Isn’t it always such a delight to spot crochet pieces in a movie or Netflix series? Sometimes I feel like I watch shows just to catch crochet Items. Seeing crochet on screen always inspires me to create something new, and it also reflects the fashion of the time the story is set in. For example, while watching SWEET MAGNOLIAS, I was completely in awe of Maddie’s shirt in one episode. I’ve always wanted to try a crochet-and-fabric fusion, but it wasn’t until I saw her beautiful white shirt with crocheted sleeves that I truly felt inspired to give it a go.

In this post, I’ll be sharing some of the crochet wearables—mainly shirts and cardigans—that I’ve noticed while watching different Netflix shows. Even though I’m usually drawn to colourful pieces, I also loved many of the shirts, vests, and scarves I spotted in Wednesday.
So, let’s begin! While watching LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS, I noticed Jackie’s friend Grace wearing two different crochet cardigans in separate episodes. The first one looked like a granny sunburst square cardigan in white, yellow, and black. I instantly fell in love with it—it’s so elegant and versatile, the kind of piece that would pair beautifully with many outfits. I can totally see it as a perfect spring cardigan.

Later in season 2, Grace appears in another cardigan that gives a spring vibe and has tones of pink brown and white The pattern of the squares is stunning, and the color combination feels both unique and eye-catching. I even came across a similar pattern for the squares used in this cardigan https://ribblr.com/pattern/how-to-crochet-puff-flower-granny-Crochet/.

Next up on my list is a cropped top I saw in SEX EDUCATION worn by a student. The top is made from classic granny squares in bold colours—reds, greens, and whites—joined together to create a playful patchwork effect. With its cropped fit and square neckline, it perfectly captures that retro meets modern vibe.

Next Up is one of my favourite shows, packed with drama and mystery, and THE ROOKIE continues that tradition beautifully. This season, I didn’t spot as many crochet pieces as in earlier ones, but late in the show, Lucy wears a stunning black-and-cream cardigan that immediately caught my eye. What I love most about this design is its versatility—with a few thoughtful adjustments, it could easily work as a unisex piece.

Next up is Devi’s Shirt from NEVER HAVE I EVER, It is patchwork-style crochet top featuring large granny squares in earthy tones of burnt orange, cream, navy, and brown. The geometric arrangement gives it a vintage 70s vibe, while the slightly oversized fit makes it feel relaxed and modern. It’s the kind of piece that blends nostalgia with current fashion trends—perfect for anyone who loves statement crochet.
Eleanor brought plenty of crochet looks to the season, though I wasn’t able to catch every single one on screen. One piece that did stand out to me was her crochet tote bag, made up of colourful squares like the traditional granny squares , daisy square and many other types of squares joined together. Last but certainly not least is WEDNESDAY, a show that truly delivered on crochet fashion. One of the most talked-about pieces is Enid’s snood—a beautifully crafted accessory that instantly caught the spotlight. In one episode, Enid gifts Wednesday a black snood, while she herself wears a version in soft pink tones. Both are stunning in their own way, and I can’t wait to try recreating them. Another standout moment for me was Wednesday’s black-and-white gingham-style crochet vest. It’s effortlessly chic and has quickly made its way onto my crochet project list.
p.s. I have taken the snapshot for the side view because I wanted to show the whole vest.

A lot of projects have made it onto my to-do list, and I’m super excited to start working on them. While I’ve realized that crochet accessories often fly under the radar in shows—and are less common than wearables—they’re always such a treat to spot. Each piece brings something unique, whether it’s a cozy cardigan, a colorful tote, or a playful snood. I can’t wait to put my own spin on some of these designs, and I’ll be sharing updates as I bring them to life.
That’s all for this post but I will be doing a similar blog post for crochet blankets that I have seen in different seasons, until then happy Crocheting!
