Materials

To make this you will need yarn, I have used katia menfis here and a 3mm crochet hook

Puff Stitch Tutorial

This tutorial uses U.S stitch terms

The pattern multiple is multiples of 4 + 2 chains at the end. This means you can chain however wide your want your project to be in multiples of 4 and then add 2 chains at the end.

abbreviations

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

Pattern Begins

Row 1: Ch 22, in the 3rd ch from your hook make a sc.

ch 1, skip 1 ch and make a sc in the next ch. Repeat this ch 1, skip 1 ch and sc in the next stitch for the whole row.

At the end of the row there will be 2 chains, make a sc in both.

Row 2 : Ch 3 and turn your work.

In the next ch 1 space ( meaning skip the sc’s from the row below and find the first ch 1) work a puff stitch.

To work a puff stitch yarn over and pass it through the ch 1 space yarn over and pull up a loop. Do this 3 more times. In total you should have 9 loops on the hook.

ch 2 ( 1 ch to look the puff in place, other ch to create a v), make another puff stitch and ch 1.

skip 2 sc’s or one ch 1 space and make another puff v stitch.

Note: Don’t make a puff v stitch in the next ch 1 space otherwise your row will not be flat and it might bend.

At the end of the row make a dc in the last sc from the row below.

Row 3: Ch 3 and turn your work. Make the next puff v stitch in the ch space of the puff v stitch from the row below and continue this for the whole row.
