My experience at barcelona knits

Last November, I had the chance to visit Barcelona Knits for the first time. It is a vibrant fiber festival in the heart of Barcelona — and I wanted to share everything I learned for anyone planning to go next year. I have linked a short video here to show a brief peek into my experience.

The event was an absolute delight for yarn lovers. There was a fantastic exhibition of yarns from different countries, each with its own character and story. I loved browsing the stalls filled with hand-dyed yarns, as well as meeting local makers who spin and produce their own wool on their farms. I also discovered a Korean yarn brand that is beginning to grow its presence in Europe. Their yarns really stood out to me, and I’ll share more about them a little further below.

Practical Tips & Planning

I chose a day pass. There was also a weekend pass. And the ticket was 10 euros but you could get it for a bit cheaper if you purchased online at least 10 days before the start of the event. There were long cues to enter the exhibition but the experience was worth it. There were decent food stalls around the place and little seating in the same area.

The crochet workshops were mostly first come first serve basis and were mostly in Spanish, a few in English. Apart from yarn stalls, there were also stalls for embroidery lovers.

Marketplace & Favorite Finds

One of the best parts of Barcelona Knits was definitely the marketplace. I could have easily spent hours just walking from stall to stall — there were so many beautiful yarns, colours, and textures to look at. From hand-dyed skeins to farm-produced wool, every table had something unique, and it really felt like each brand had its own story behind it. Even if you don’t plan to buy much, it’s still such a fun experience to browse, feel the yarn in person, and chat with the makers.

There were well known yarn brands as well like Katia, and a famous local brand Casasol.

Conclusion

Barcelona Knits honestly left me feeling so inspired. There’s something really special about being surrounded by people who love yarn and handmade crafts as much as you do — it feels like you’re part of a big creative community. I came home with beautiful yarn, new ideas, and lots of motivation to start new projects. If you ever get the chance to visit, I truly recommend it. And if you’re planning to go next year, I hope my tips help you make the most of your trip!
